Abstract
Attempts to bring together the contemporary science of psychology with the 1,400-yr-old tradition of Zen Buddhism. The goals of the 2 disciplines are compared and a psychological understanding of Zen practices and prospects is presented. The contrasting approaches to knowledge, logic, and causality are discussed.
