Abstract
This chapter focuses on dance studies. Dance studies is a relatively new field of scholarship that has crystallized over the past four decades. As a fundamentally interdisciplinary field, its methods and practices reflect its disparate influences. These influences are rooted in the humanities and social sciences, and extend into the fields of education, philosophy, and sciences.
