Abstract

A review of “Vesica Explorations,” an exhibition of work by William Daley at the Vera List Gallery, Swarthmore College, fall 2009. The 19 masterfully handbuilt ceramic objects in this show were given an organic yet orderly arrangement. These monumental vessels reflect Daley's fluency in a profoundly connective symbolic language—prayers transcribed as form, an assembly of the sacred.
